Friday, January 30, 2009 Germanna Community College Members - Attend both the Occasional Invaders on Friday, January 30th and the Pest Flies Workshop on Saturday, January 31st and take $25 off your registration fee! Because of the limited number of microscopes and space, there will be a limit of 40 seats available for the Occasional Invaders workshop and 30 seats for the Pest Flies workshop. Trainers, Dr. Eric Smith and Richard Whitman, BCE walk each technician through the identification, biology and management of this diverse pest group; including mayflies, bed bugs, earwigs, springtails and more. Each participant will use an Occasional Invaders specimen reference collection to identify these pests by their physical characteristics. Did you know that many occasional invaders are actually beneficial when living outside? Why do they come inside? Why only occasionally? Find out the answers as we get down and dirty with Occasional Invaders!!
