General Information
Safety is of paramount importance in the pest management industry. Not only does safety play an important role in terms of personal protection for those technicians performing pest management services, but as stewards of consumers health and property, it also becomes an integral part of our businesses. Even before the "Green" movement became popular, managing the environmental impact our work has on our natural surroundings has played a vital role in pest management professional's safety training.

Safety Committee Bylaws Definiation – It shall be the duty of the Safety Committee to study and recommend to the Association safe working practices to be used in order to prevent accidents and death. To work with the health and government departments for greater safety measures within the industry and to perform other relevant duties assigned to it by the President or Board of Directors.

Background
The purpose of this
committee is to give our Allied members a voice and a means of letting the
Association know how we can best serve them. Getting their input about
exhibiting and sponsorship is important, but we'd also like to know their ideas,
thoughts and concerns about other areas of the Association's work as well.

General Information:
The Conference Committee works in conjuction with the Education Committee to plan and promote the VPMA State Technical Meeting. The committee also represents VPMA whenever Virginia co-sponsors a regional or national event with NPMA, specifically the Mid-Atlantic Meeting, NPMA Legislative Day and Eastern Conference.

General Information:
The nominations committee begins to develop an initial slate of nominations each year in June. The initial slate is mailed to members in July. Any Active member in good standing shall be eligible for nomination and election to any elective office of this Association, except that of President, in which case, he or she shall have served at least one (1) year as a member of the Board of Directors just prior to his or her elective term of office. Active members may make additional nominations in writing to the Executive Secretary within 15 days of the date that the initial slate of nominations was mailed. The final slate of nominations will be formed and mailed to the membership thirty (30) days in advance of the annual meeting, normally the end of August.
A final slate and ballot is mailed to members, usually at the end of July, in order to meet the 60 day notice prior to the annual meeting. Elections are conducted by mail vote during August. Each firm’s “Voting Member” (as defined in Article IV, Section 1b) shall have one (1) vote to cast, wither by mail ballot or in person only (branch offices do not have voting privileges). The election results are announced at Pest Fest, during the annual meeting, which is typically held during the first week of October are posted to the Association website, vpmaonline.com and published in the post-election PMP Reporter.
