Professional Pre-Treat Workshop |
|
When a soil termiticide is applied at less-than-label rate, the
property owner is not getting the protection they are legally entitled
to. This can potentially lead to costly repairs of subterranean termite
damage.
Secondly, non-compliant pest management companies are putting compliant
pest management companies at a competitive disadvantage due to the low
pricing of off-label termiticide applications.
VPMA’s interest in pretreatments is driven by the need to continuously
upgrade and improve business practices to meet the needs of our
customers while promoting a fair and ethical business environment among
members of the Pest Management Industry.
Through a grant received from the Pesticide Control Board, VPMA aims to
train 800 pest management professionals at regional trainin sites by
Spring 2008. Efforts will also be made to educate builders, homebuyers,
and building code officials about the importance of a label-compliant
pretreat.
Professional Pre-Treat Workshops
The last of the VPMA Professional Pretreat workshop series were held in the Spring of 2008. VPMA is currently developing a training CD that PMPs will be able to use as an in-house-training tool. Please call VPMA for more information at 877/875-8722.
