About VPMA
The Virginia Pest Management Association, a non-profit organization with more than 225 member companies, was established in 1948 to support the Virginia pest management industry's commitment to the protection of public health, food and property. VPMA is dedicated to raising the standard on continuing education for pest management professionals with the creation of the WDI Inspector Certification Program, the Master Technician Program, and the Professional Pretreat Workshop. Find a VPMA Certified WDI Inspector in Your Area |
|
When buying a home or property, mortgage companies or lenders typically require that an inspection be performed to determine the presence of wood destroying insects (WDI). This inspection is often referred to as a termite inspection or a WDI Inspection. In the state of Virginia, there are no regulatory licensing or training requirements needed to perform a termite inspection.
In 2000, VPMA created a voluntary certification program for
wood-destroying insect inspectors in Virginia. To raise standards on these inspections done for real
estate transfers, VPMA created a voluntary certification program that
provides intensive classroom training. Participants must pass a written
exam to become certified; and need to attend training to re-certify
every two years. To find a VPMA Certified WDI Inspector, use our searchable list of inspectors in your area.
This patch indicates that your inspector is a VPMA Certified WDI Insepctor.
