Find a VPMA Certified WDI Inspector in Your Area |
|
When buying a home or property, mortgage companies or lenders typically require that an inspection be performed to determine the presence of wood destroying insects (WDI). This inspection is often referred to as a termite inspection or a WDI Inspection. In the state of Virginia, there are no regulatory licensing or training requirements needed to perform a termite inspection.
In 2000, VPMA created a voluntary certification program for
wood-destroying insect inspectors in Virginia. To raise standards on these inspections done for real
estate transfers, VPMA created a voluntary certification program that
provides intensive classroom training. Participants must pass a written
exam to become certified; and need to attend training to re-certify
every two years. To find a VPMA Certified WDI Inspector, use our searchable list of inspectors in your area.
This patch indicates that your inspector is a VPMA Certified WDI Insepctor.
