Virginia Tech Richmond Center, 2810 N Parham Rd STE 300, Richmond, VA 23294

Workshop Summary: Ants are among the most persistent and challenging pests that Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) encounter in residential and commercial environments. From nuisance infestations to species capable of causing structural damage or contaminating food, ants present complex problems that require more than basic control measures. This Master Technician Pest Ants Workshop provides an in-depth understanding of ant biology, behavior, and colony dynamics, along with accurate identification of common and emerging pest ant species. By mastering inspection techniques, treatment strategies, and integrated pest management (IPM) approaches specific to ants, technicians will be better equipped to diagnose infestations, implement effective control programs, and communicate long-term solutions to their customers with confidence.

Recertification credits have been approved for in 7a, and 60 in Virginia, and in corresponding categories in Maryland, North Carolina, Washington DC, and West Virginia.
